Is Emmett ever having a bad day :-(

Emmett has been up from map for only and hour and yet that entire journey has been spent screaming.  I’ve made him a total of 3 different lunches,  none of which he actually ate.

The poor kid is in a great deal of pain and a bit miffed that Gavin and Elliott have speech and OT this afternoon and he has to miss his appointment tomorrow because Gavin will be at the Cleveland Clinic.

During his screaming,  one of the things that he’s wanting, is to go to the movie theater.

I think I may try to take him to see Madagascar 3 for $1. That way when he inevitably wants to leave,  shortly after the movie starts,  we’re only out $2.

This may just be the worst idea in the long history of bad ideas.  On the other hand, he may just find a brief period of relief from his pain via the distraction.

Either way,  he’s actually excited to go so, we’ll see what happens.

How old is Emmett John now and what is the cause of his pain? Is it related to sensory issues? Also, I noticed you tagged mouth sores. Obviously I haven't read you entire blog...trying to catch up.

@hudginsvicky there's always sensory issues. However, Emmett has a rare fever disorder and hits a cycle about every 2 or 3 weeks. The fever flares come with really large mouth sores that cost this inside of his mouth. These last about 10 days. :-(

@lostandtired  @hudginsvicky Believe it or not, I have some experience with large blisters inside the mouth. I only have one idea, but it's a good one – egg custard. If he will eat it, this is the best "last resort" there is.

It saved my daughter's life when she had Stevens-Johnson Syndrome -- a severe drug reaction. Her entire body was a sea of blisters, inside and out. She was emaciated and close to death. The egg custard was the one thing she could swallow, because it slid right down her throat.
