This is how much I love my family

We all show our love and affection for our families in different ways. The most obvious ways being, a hug or a kiss. Sure, I do the above as well but I also show them that I love them by drinking this nasty concoction. It’s a green smoothie and when I say it’s nasty, I mean it’s really, really, really nasty. It basically liquefied veggie and it’s an acquired taste. For the record, I have yet to aquire that taste. Having said that, it’s really good for me and my family is worth it.

Hey, what’s cookin?

I don’t know what the weather is like on your end but it’s pretty darn crappy here. I’ve got a house full of sick and super grouchy kids and I’m battling to keep my eyes open.

When I look outside, it’s very clear that summer has left us. It’s rainy, cold and I have a yard full of leave to rake.

It’s not helping much in the depression front.

However,  I managed to get a pork roast in the crockpot and some dishes done.  :-)

The roast should be ready in an hour or so and the smell has filled the house and it definitely takes the edge off of the bad weather.

When I get home from picking up Gavin, I’m going to settle down onto the couch with a hot cup of tea and watch Elliott’s beautiful mind create a few custom levels in Portal 2. Afterwards, I’m hoping to enjoy a nice quiet dinner on a cold, rainy,  fall evening.

It’s the time of year for a big pot of soup

My phone just belted out a weather alert.  We have a frost advisory on affect for tonight and tomorrow morning.

We already have leaves on the ground.

It’s the perfect time of year for a huge pot of chicken noodle soup. I love to cook,  so this is a good day for me.

I have the chicken boiling right now and will sneak in all the veggies in the morning.  I love making good, healthy food for my family and a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup on a frosty evening is just awesome.

Do you have any favorite, seasonal foods?
