Getting Fit4Autism
0One of the things that parents of Autistic children do very often is forget to take care of themselves. So I started a team on Endomondo called Fit4Autism. If you have a smart phone chances are you can download the Endomondo app.
Check out my Fit4Autism page at the top for details on how to sign up. The team consists of people from around the world. We have runners, walkers, hikers, bikers, More >
A summer of therapy
4As if we weren’t busy enough already, we now have therapies EVERY SINGLE day of the week. Gavin is restarting OT as well. Actually, Gavin started OT yesterday. Gavin used to be in speech, OT and PT until he was simply to violent. However, Gavin gets those every week at school anyway so all that happened was we were no longer doubling up. The problem is that Gavin is regressing in these areas and More >
That’s a wrap…..
0Well today went off without much of a hitch. Lizze is good. The boys are good. Maggie survived ALL day alone and I made it home in one piece.
Toothless gets his new order of crickets in the morning and I have some chores around the house to do. I’m hoping Lizze will sleep most of the day and rest up for her return trip home. I want to thank our parents for watching the boys. I also want to thank More >
WE NEED A BREAK
2We need a break. We haven’t had a break in as long as I can remember. We don’t sleep or ever just get to relax. Gavin has been having more and more problems and Emmett has become extremely difficult to manage. Speaking for myself, I feel I’m losing my mind. We can’t be expected to keep this up forever. There has to be help out there. We can’t keep struggling to keep the kids from hurting More >
Weekend Update
0Gavin and Elliott spent the night at Grandmas house this weekend. Sounds like they had a great time and got a sorta break.
I say sorta break cause it was a very busy weekend for us. Our washer died and I spent Satuarday at the laundrymat doing about 15 loads of laundry. I was able to cram them into about 10 loads. We had gotten behind on laundry so this was only about half of what actually needs More >
General Update
0Today has been just a bad day. It started out rough and ended rough. Gavin is becoming more and more of a handful. The impact he is having on Elliott is very profound. Gavin is dragging Elliott into his imaginary world. He is teaching Elliott that these things are real by his example. I don’t know how to find balance. I don’t know how to allow us all to coexist without unneeded fallout.

I’ve lost….
2…20lbs since starting Fit 4 Autism. My doctor today, said I have made a complete turn around since the beginning of the year. I am medication free and aside from my much improved diet and fish oil, multi-vitamins and a few other natural supplements my doctor recommended, I’m good to go.
I couldn’t believe it when they told me how much I have lost. I don’t weigh myself I just count the kcal’s I More >
Today’s agenda
0I go to the doctors this morning. I pick the van up by noon and we are supposed to speak with Gavin’s doctor today and I think we are going to look for discharge. We were able to rule out any and all life threats and everything else is untreatable. He is getting picked on and desperately wants to come home. In my mind he was only there because we needed to know what was going in with the More >
Failure: An honesty post
0Those of you that know us know that we love are kids. Those of you that have been with us a while (years) know what we have been through and the lengths we have gone to for our kids, especially Gavin. That being said, I think we have reached the point now where we have begun failing. We can’t seem to get anything done or remember to do anything besides the very basics.
We met with a social worker More >
