Emmett had a really rough day yesterday. His mouth is really sore and he’s still trying to adjust to Gavin moving back home.

After a really emotional afternoon, Emmett fell asleep on the couch, next to me.

What helped him to calm down and fall asleep, you ask.

Simple. His snuggle buddy Blue. Blue is Emmett’s cat, whom Emmett has great affection for. He’s really a pretty amazing cat because he tolerates a great deal of less than gentle attention from Emmett.

He actually fell asleep snuggling Blue yesterday and I was able to snag these adorable pictures. Way, way, way too friggin cute. Am I right? Of course I am.

The Lighter Side of #Autism: Have you ever seen a happier child?

While Friday was a really, really trying day, I wanted to try an end things on a positive note. What’s one thing that can put any kid that isn’t allergic to milk or lactose intolerant, in a better mood?

That’s right….ice cream!!

It worked pretty well and for the most part, the evening concluded on a high note.

The Lighter Side of #Autism: My sweet little man

You know something? Despite all the screaming he’s capable of, Emmett is the absolute sweetest 4 year old I know. Admittedly I’m probably a smidgen biased but what parent isn’t?

Anyway, today Emmett fell asleep on the couch patiently waiting for Elliott to get home from school so they could play together.

He looks so peaceful. Incredibly uncomfortable but peaceful nonetheless.

Emmett John, Daddy loves you so very much.

The Lighter Side of #Autism: Quiet Time

Today is a really bad day for Lizze. Emmett as usual, is full of energy and loud noises. Having said that, he was very careful and very quite this morning when he was sitting with his Mommy and Greysha (the Cat).

99% of the time, Emmett is literally bouncing off the walls and screaming his head off.

However, there are times when he does the most amazing things and can sit quietly with his ailing Mommy and snuggle. As time goes on, he seems to be able to do this more often.

I know that Lizze really appreciates this and so do I.

Emmett, I’m so proud of you.

The lighter side of #Autism: Mother’s Day

While the boys have had a really long weekend, especially with Gavin spending the night they did pretty well today.

We spent Mother’s Day at my parents house and the boys did really,really well.

They spent the time building race tracks and little towns. I love it when they get along and it was a really nice Mother’s Day gift. Lizze’s migraine was really bad today and not having the boys screaming at each other is always a good thing and well appreciated by Lizze.

Elliott, The Lighter Side of #Autism

Mondays are traditionally not good days for the Lost and Tired family. This holds true today once again. However, on the lighter, more positive side of things, Elliott got off to school without a problem.

He did a really good job of getting ready without any hassle.

On a day like today, I have to focus on something positive and anytime that Elliott gets ready for school without a problem, is a positive thing.

As Lizze would say, getting Elliott off to school today was easy peasy.
