If you’re a special needs parent, is it selfish to have more kids?

Should a special needs parent have more children?

Over the past two years that I have been publicly blogging, I have been asked the above question on more than a few occasions and in various different ways. I’m personally, always taken aback when someone approaches me with this question. On the surface it seems like an ignorant comment, from someone who just doesn’t know what not to say to More >

Say hello to #Autism Awareness

As many of you are aware of,  the Lost and Tired family was very recently in the paper.

However,  what I didn’t know at the time was that we actually made the front page.  We literally almost took up the entire front page.

Since we don’t get the paper,  we had no idea until my parents told me.

Lizze and I had assumed that the article would be buried somewhere in the paper and not easy to More >

I made this movie, based on my very popular post, “10 Things My Autistic Kids Wished You Knew“.

Please feel free to use this video to help spread Autism Awareness, or to help educate those people in your life that may not understand the challenges our kids on the Autism Spectrum can face.

If you do use this, please link back to this page.

I need active special needs bloggers

I have formed a tribe on Triberr and am looking to expand. Triberr is one of the absolute best ways to network your blog. Basically, it allows a tribe to leverage the combined total of followers to help create and drive traffic to your blog. This doesn’t cost anything but a few minutes of your time. I personally feel this is a fantastic way to help spread Awareness.

Interview number 2

2

The 2nd part of our Canton Repository interview will take place tonight. The reporter is going to meet with Dr. Pattie and myself tonight.

This will provide verification of everything.

This is a positive thing because even putting this fundraiser aside, this could help to spread Autism Awareness in a city solely lacking it.

Hopefully, things will go well and we can all connect tonight.

New Goals and New Outlook

I’m making a conscious decision to try and be more positive in 2012. I won’t be fluffy or fake but I also want to spend more time on the little victories. I will always be realistic about things as I truly believe that is the very best approach to Autism Awareness.  I just want to celebrate my children’s accomplishments more publicly going forward.  I want people to take comfort and know that More >

I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone for all your support. I want to thank the McCabe’s for taking it upon themselves to reach out and help my family by launching a fundraiser that you can read about in the stickied post at the top of my home page.

Thank you for all the generous donations that will assist in our relocation. Please remember,  do not feel obligated to help.
