Promotion 2012

Gavin received his martial arts promotion the other day.  I meant to post this on Tuesday but Gavin ended up in the hospital and subsequently moving home

Basically, I had other things on my plate and never got around to it.

Gavin did awesome as did Elliott.  Unfortunately, I was at the hospital with Gavin and missed Elliott‘s promotion but my parents took pictures and when I get them, I’ll share them.

Here is a collage of pictures from Gavin‘s promotion on Tuesday.  Please feel free to congratulate him, I know he’ll appreciate it.

Please leave only positive feedback:-)

Please keep Lizze’s grandfather in your prayers

Lizze and I went to visit her grandfather today in the nursing home. We haven‘t made it there until now.  There are many reasons for that, none of which have anything to do with not wanting to be there.

We’re in over our heads on the best of days. There’s also the fact that everyone deals with grief in different ways. With everything we have going on in our lives, Lizze hasn’t been in a good emotional place to be able to deal with this.

However, we did make it in this afternoon.

I could see how hard it was for Lizze. We stayed and visited with her younger cousin who was standing vigil, determined not to leave him alone.

The doctors say that there isn‘t much time left.

I was hoping that you would all keep him in your thoughts and prayers.  Please keep Lizze and her family in them as well.  This is a very difficult time for them all.

I really, really appreciate it.  Thank you in advance for your support.  :-)

On a serious note :-)

I wanted to share this sign from the pediatrician’s office yesterday.  Look at this as a PSA.  :-)

Hope you get a smile from this.  I thought it was really funny.

I think I shared this awhile ago but wanted to share it again, ya know, for my new readers.  :-)

Seriously though folks, please don’t leave your poop behind.  :-)

Priceless moments with #Autism

Ever since we brought Bella into our family,  she has had such a positive impact on Emmett.  He absolutely loves his Bella and has done things for her that he has never been willing to do prior.

He feeds her everyday and snuggles with her on the couch.  He even helps me pick up the not so little anymore,  landmines that she leave in the yard everyday.

She’s not without a ton of hard work but to me,  it’s absolutely worth it.  There are times that I honestly get so frustrated with her that I question our decision.  Having said that,  she’s doing really well and is almost 100% housebroken.

Even when she gets into something or runs out of the yard and I get really, really frustrated, it’s all worth it.

It’s worth it because I get to see things like this happen. I get to see my Autistic son doing things that he has never done before, all because of his love for Bella.

Priceless is all I can say… :-)

It’s really cool because Akron Children’s Hospital has taken such amazing care of our boys that a chance to do something like this is just awesome for me. :-)

Check out the Akron Children’d Hospital blog. Read my review and leave some feedback. I really appreciate it :-)

Elliott’s EEG: Anxiety out the ying yang

We haven’t even left the house yet and Elliott is already freaking out. He’s been crying all morning and has not been very cooperative with getting dressed.

The poor kid is terrified of the wires that are going to be stuck to his head.

Hopefully,  this will go well enough to get an accurate measure of whether or not,  something is going on.

I don’t see him fighting the procedure,  once it actually begins.  I suspect he will lay there frozen in place.  It’s the time leading up to the procedure that’s going to be tough.

We’re taking the other two boys to my parents and then heading up.  I think we are gonna leave early because of the roads.

This appointment should only take like two hours or so.  Hopefully,  it will be quick and productive.
