Are you fu*king kidding me

I was reading my friend, Jill’s blog last night. I was inspired by her expert use of colorful language while writing this. I have a ways to go in honing that skill but I hope this makes you proud Jill…. I dropped a censored f-bomb Emmett did really well at the immunologist. He charmed all [...]

6th Antibody Infusion: Weighing in

wpid-IMG_20111230_123943_wm.jpg

We have arrived at our home away from home,  Akron Children’s Hospital,  for Gavin’s 6th and final Antibody Infusion for this year. He has been weighed and had his vitals checked. He is watching TV in the waiting room until we get called back to his room for further preparations. Gavin is very excited because [...]

Please pray for Gavin

Gavin is going to Akron Children’s Hospital Emergency Room.  He has been disoriented today and something is wrong.  I’m concerned he maybe having seizures. His actions are consistent with some one post ictal,  the phase immediately following a seizure,  where is disorientation and even aggression.  As a paramedic,  I have seen this many,  many times.  [...]

I’m Grateful

I swear to God that Emmett was programed for destruction.  Don’t get me wrong,  he’s sweet,  adorable and amazing but he is also very destructive. It’s like his goal for each day is to make as big of a mess as possible.  Let me just say,  he is quite efficient at doing this. The one [...]

Unique view of OT And PT

I thought I would try out the new panoramic feature on my new Verizon phone.  This is a view of the main therapy room at the always amazing Concorde Kids. The picture is a bit compressed due to the watermarking app,  so I’m not sure how it turned out. Posted from WordPress for Android

Repetition…

I’ve only been up for a short time and already Gavin has managed to ask me the same question,  over and over and over and over.  To his credit,  at least he’s asking the same question in different ways.  Although,  it doesn’t make it any easier to take.  It’s like listening to a scratched record,  [...]

Change of plans

Gavin woke up after a short nap,  feeling better.  We decided that we would hold off on the emergency room for now.  Instead,  we will see our pediatrician this morning. This will be less traumatic on Gavin and they can do the same abdominal xray there that they would at the hospital.  If he has [...]
