Hopefully he’ll eat lunch tomorrow

Elliott hasn’t been eating at school, I think I mentioned that before. Anyway, Elliott didn’t eat lunch again today, so I’ve pulled the plug on school lunches for now.  The school has been great with trying to work with him but it’s just not working for him.

He keeps saying that things don’t taste right and so we won’t eat it.  Dr.  Patti thinks this is about him grasping for control over his life.

All we can do is support him right now.

I dragged my sick self out to Giant Eagle tonight in order to get Elliott some things for his lunch.

Hopefully, he will have a better day and actually eat lunch

This is not my day. Will tomorrow be better?

Today is absolutely not my day. Sometimes I’m on target and on days like today,  I can’t seem to do anything right to save my life.

I don’t see things improving tonight,  but I have to learn to except my limitations and move forward anyway.

Tonight I’m going to try and put in about 5 miles again.  It’s really the only time that I feel like I’m making a difference. By losing weight and getting back in shape,  I can be a better husband and father. I might not be able to do much else to improve the lives of my family but at least I will stay healthy and have the energy I need to be there for them.

That’s got to count for something, right?

I’m just feeling pretty low today and it seems like everything I touch turns into a disaster.  However,  the day is almost over and tomorrow is a new day.  I plan on learning from the mistakes of today and trying to avoid them tomorrow.

The last day of school….again

Alright,  so tomorrow is the last day of school.  This time,  I’m like 99.9% sure.  :-)

Elliott had a rough start to the year but hit his stride just a few weeks into the school year.  He has done absolutely amazing this year and I’m sooooo proud of him. He’s looking forward to returning next year and that is really good news.

I’m really grateful for all that Summit Academy has provided him this year. They made the transition easier for Elliott and I look forward to returning next year.  :-)

Early night

I’m so beyond tired right now.  I’m just now sitting down for the first time today. Emmett has been a handful today.

He’s almost asleep and God willing,  he’ll be that way till tomorrow morning around 8am. I may crash for the night when he dose. I’ll share more tomorrow but for now I’m going to bed.

Night all….

Ending things early

Today has been the day from hell.  After I get Elliott and Gavin in bed,  I’m shutting things down early tonight.

I hope you all have a pleasant evening.  I’ll see you all tomorrow morning,  bright and early. :-)

A 104°F wrench in our plans

To further complicate matters,  Emmett’s fever has almost hit 104°F.  I think this is going to put a wrench into our plans for tomorrow.

It’s one thing to send him to my parents with just a bad cough but with a fever of 104°F,  I don’t want him going anywhere. It looks as though Lizze and I will have to split up in the morning.  I hate having to do this because this is a pretty big appointment for the boys and we should both be there.

At this point,  my priority has to shift to Emmett and managing his fever.  Typically,  it wouldn’t be a huge deal,  but since he started with the fever disorder a year or so ago,  he hasn’t been typical when it comes to fever.

I need to go stock up on Gatorade to keep him hydrated.

It going to be a very long night…..

#Autism, Seizures and EEG’s

You may recall that Elliott and Gavin both had EEG’s done a couple of weeks ago. If you remember that,  then you may also remember that we have been waiting for the results.

Tomorrow morning,  the wait will finally be over.

On Tuesday of this week, we will once again return Akron Children’s Hospital,  Neurological clinic. We will receive the results of the previous testing.

Both Gavin and Elliott have had suspicious episodes.  We do have epilepsy in the family and so we wanted to make sure everything was okay.  It’s been a very long couple of weeks,  especially when waiting for answers.

My hope is that we will walk away from this appointment,  knowing more about what’s going on than we knew previously.
Right now, we don’t know to much,  so the bar isn’t set very high…….
